Alerts recipe

Get pinged on Discord when Bitcoin crosses your line

You want to know the moment the price reaches the number you care about, and you can't watch a chart all day.

alerts discord no model needed PRO

What you get

A message in your own Discord channel, on your phone and your computer, only when the price goes above or below the numbers you set.

What it does

  1. Fetch the current price from a public API.
  2. Compare it with your high number and your low number.
  3. Post to your Discord channel only if one of them is crossed.
  4. Add a line to a log file, so you can see every check that ran.

The whole automation, in one file

This is the actual recipe. Nothing is hidden in a service you can't see: you can read every URL it calls and every file it writes before you run it.

Why this is different

It only speaks when your condition is true. The numbers are two lines in a file you can read and change, and the check runs on your own machine instead of inside an exchange's app.

Questions

Do I need a Discord bot?

No. A channel webhook is enough. In Discord, open the channel's settings, choose Integrations, then Webhooks, and paste the address into the two alert steps.

How often does it check?

As often as you schedule it. Point Task Scheduler or cron at the run command.

Can it watch something other than Bitcoin?

Yes. Change the address in the first step to any API that returns a number, and change the two conditions.

Why Discord and not a text message?

A Discord webhook is free and reaches every device you're signed in on. Real SMS needs a paid messaging service and a registered number.

Run it

Vibe Engine (Vibra-Ingenn) runs recipes like this on your own machine. Drop the file in, run it once by hand, then put it on a schedule. Get the engine, see three recipes running, or read how the engine works.
